One of my favorite things about being a photographer is that, through sharing my art with others, my life ends up being enriched by the wide variety of interesting and talented people I get to meet.  Through a wedding I shot last year, I came to know Richard and Jane Leake.  Jane is the owner of Ivy Downs Interiors.  She is an amazing interior designer, and Katie and I can’t wait to see what she does with our new home.  So stoked!  :)

Jane had seen my work and felt that I would be a good fit for her son Damon’s and his beautiful bride Leah’s wedding.  They’re so nice!  Damon and Leah flew in from Park City, Utah early for the wedding weekend, so we got to sit out on the Leake patio and get to know one another.  We talked about music, babies, real estate, their big day…the works.  This family is precious, and I’m so happy to have met them.

The wedding was at St. Peter Church, and their reception was trackside at Keeneland’s clubhouse.  Most of the guests came in from out-of-town, so these venues were a perfect way to show off Lexington.  Makes me proud!  :)   Enjoy the slideshow, and please also click HERE to pre-register to see all of the final images here in a few weeks.  Thanks!

Hey!  I’m on my way out the door to start hair and makeup with the girls, but I wanted to post a few shots from our arrival yesterday in Brevard, NC, where Kenny and Erin are getting married at a mountain-top chapel known as Pretty Place.  I can’t even tell you how gorgeous it is.  Check back soon!  Gotta run!  :)

After the rehearsal dinner, we all made a late night run to the local Irish Pub.  Here are Erin and Kenny enjoying some time outside.  What you can’t hear is the whistling and hooting from passersby and the wedding party standing at the door.  Good stuff!  :)

Gee I can hardly wait to see the rest of the pictures…what a beautiful setting for a wedding. The funny thing is you got married on the same day as my Grandson did (Dallas, TX) and his wedding was at the AVANTI FOUNTAIN/RESTAURENT and ‘it too’ is beautiful It rained all day, but stopped 1 hour before the wedding so it could, too, be held outside…congratulations and I wish you many, many years of happiness…
Good Luck…Edna & Bob Johnson (You don’t know me but your Mom does) (square dancers)

It was a beautiful wedding… Kenny & Erin were very fortunate to have such a wonderful photographer! He was so good that he was able to get amazing shots without us even noticing his presence. I love the shot he took of Kenny & Erin after the Rehersal Dinner. The photos show what an amazing & loving couple they make. Can’t wait to see the rest!

These pictures are amazing; cannot wait to see the others. Sorry we missed the reception,,,,,,,,,,babysitter didn’t show up. Congratulations to you both!

  • Part of my favorite Bible verse is hanging across the ceiling in that first shot. Psalm 121…good stuff. Good pictures. :D

  • LOVE these photos

Tadd is graduating from Montgomery County High School in Mt. Sterling (my hometown, btw) here in a few days.  Driving around Lexington, we got to talk about music, prom, graduation, college, career choices and weightlifting (though, admittedly, he’s better versed in that department than I am right now…LOL).  I shot Tadd’s session the day after his prom and after-prom festivities, so I’ve got to give it up to him for making it out of bed and over to Lexington by 7PM.  We had a good time, and I’m really pleased with how everything turned out.

Big thanks to my buddy Logan who’s the drummer for The Stationary Set, an AMAZING band based in NYC. He’s letting me borrow one of their tunes for Tadd’s slideshow. Very cool. Feel free to download their free EP HERE

Thank you, Tadd, for being so fun to work with this weekend.  You’re going to do great in college, and I’ll look forward to staying in touch!
