As a wedding photographer, there are a few things that make me want to go above-and-beyond crazy for my clients.

1)Being referred to me.  Alie and Ryan came to know about me from Alie’s friend Devon and Ryan’s brother Corey, both of which I worked with at Chili’s during college.  Thank you, Facebook, for keeping us in touch!  Devon and Corey are awesome, so going into this wedding, I was 100% confident that I would love Alie and Ryan just as much.  Total score.

2)When folks trust me to do what I do best.  Alie and Ryan love my style, and they made it clear from the get-go that they wanted me to be free to do my thing.  It may seem obvious, but when you’re hiring a wedding photographer, you’ll want to find someone whose work speaks to you and someone with whom you naturally click.  If those two things are in place, you can kick back on your wedding day and know that everything is going to be just fine.

3)When I feel like a guest.  Everybody was awesome to be around.  The bride, groom, wedding party, families, friends, vendors—EVERYONE.  From the rehearsal dinner at Sal’s where Ryan and Alie insisted that I sit at their table and have some steak and wine, to the post-reception after-party at Bar Louie where I put my camera down and just chilled with the wedding party, they made me feel like a part of their crew—albeit with a fancy-schmancy camera.

To everyone reading this—Please stay in touch with me!  Add me on Facebook and Twitter, follow my RSS feed, leave comments, message me directly, or whatever.  I love hearing from you all!

To Ryan and Alie…You rock.  Let’s keep in touch!

Regardless, be sure to check out the highlights slideshow below and pre-register HERE to see all of the images once they’re ready.  Peace out, y’all!  -shaun

  • You truly are the best photographer I know…Man, if I could have half your talent!

  • Another fab job! To answer your question, I prefer the wide shots. They give a quick taste of the event without requiring a new window to open. And the details are breath-taking. You lose that with the smaller images.

Ethan and Mia are former real estate clients of mine.  At the same time we were house hunting in Georgetown earlier this year, we were also making plans for the photography for their October wedding.  I can’t believe they’ve been in their new house for good 6 months now, and that their Bell House wedding is just around the corner.

We had a good time in Georgetown running around for this shoot.  We started off meeting up at Lock & Key, walked through downtown, and then finished up out at the Japanese Friendship Garden.

Here are my faves!

Check out the highlights slideshow below and feel free to leave me comment. Oh, and please-I’d love for you all to stay in touch with me on Facebook and Twitter

Many thanks to Laura Triplett at the Lexington Downtown Hotel and Conference Center for referring Melissa and Chris my way. From the moment I sat down with these two, I knew we’d be a perfect fit together. They’re a laid back, cool couple, and they wanted their wedding photography to have that same real, authentic and fresh quality. I’m so glad we hooked up!

Here are a few of my faves:

Melissa’s dad.

Gorgeous.

The ceremony was the very first wedding held at the new Victory Lutheran Church here in Lexington. Thanks to Pastor Zietlow for being so warm and helpful!

Love the lighting and expressions here.

I got sooooo lucky with this shot. The light from the sunroof couldn’t have been any more perfect.

You’re a beautiful bride, Melissa!

My favorite shot from the speeches and toasts. Great moment.

I’m a big fan of Lexington Downtown Hotel’s ballroom. Huge space, tons of drama. Plus, the reception was flawlessly planned and implemented by Laura Triplett and the friendly staff. Things went sooo smoothly.

I’ve gotta give up some major props to Betsy, one of my second shooters, for capturing this moment.  Love it.

Hahahaha…

Thank you to my long-time friend and second shooter Scott Hicks and to Betsy Whiteman, who has been shooting with us for the last couple years, too.  I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your hard work, and how much I look forward to working more with you two.  We have a blast together!

Check out the highlights slideshow below and feel free to leave me comment if you feel inspired. And please-I’d love for you all to stay in touch with me on Facebook and Twitter!  Last thing?  You can preregister HERE to see all of the images once they’re finished here in 2 or 3 weeks. Bye, y’all!  -shaun
