As a wedding photographer, there are a few things that make me want to go above-and-beyond crazy for my clients.
1)Being referred to me. Alie and Ryan came to know about me from Alie’s friend Devon and Ryan’s brother Corey, both of which I worked with at Chili’s during college. Thank you, Facebook, for keeping us in touch! Devon and Corey are awesome, so going into this wedding, I was 100% confident that I would love Alie and Ryan just as much. Total score.
2)When folks trust me to do what I do best. Alie and Ryan love my style, and they made it clear from the get-go that they wanted me to be free to do my thing. It may seem obvious, but when you’re hiring a wedding photographer, you’ll want to find someone whose work speaks to you and someone with whom you naturally click. If those two things are in place, you can kick back on your wedding day and know that everything is going to be just fine.
3)When I feel like a guest. Everybody was awesome to be around. The bride, groom, wedding party, families, friends, vendors—EVERYONE. From the rehearsal dinner at Sal’s where Ryan and Alie insisted that I sit at their table and have some steak and wine, to the post-reception after-party at Bar Louie where I put my camera down and just chilled with the wedding party, they made me feel like a part of their crew—albeit with a fancy-schmancy camera.

Another fab job! To answer your question, I prefer the wide shots. They give a quick taste of the event without requiring a new window to open. And the details are breath-taking. You lose that with the smaller images.
