month: January 2011

This was my first Bar Mitzvah.  What a beautiful ceremony.  Sam lead the service at Temple Adath Israel, getting a chance to show off the Hebrew he’d been working so hard to learn.  One of the most touching parts of the ceremony for me was when Sam’s parents were each given the opportunity to give a speech.  Wendy and Jon are so sweet.  Each of their four sons are awesome guys with very unique personalities.  That’s great parenting!

To Sam…Congrats on this new stage of your life.  You impress me.  And you’re quite the public speaker!  Good luck in all you do, Sam.  You have an amazing family and community rooting you on.

The congregation threw candy at Sam at the end.  Fun tradition!

Love this.

I love photographing this family.  Chelsea and Sean call me whenever anything cool is happening with them.  Like in 2009 when they were expecting their first baby.  Then in spring of 2010 for Langley’s first birthday.  Last month, I met back up with them at their home to photograph their trio before baby number two arrives next month.

To Chelsea and Sean—THANK YOU for staying in touch and trusting me with your special moments.  You’re awesome parents.  Can’t wait to meet Carter!

A few of my favorites…

Love this shot.

I’m one lucky guy.  2010 was a great year, one filled with awesome people and experiences.  It’s fitting then, that one of my favorite weddings of the year was on New Year’s Eve.

Amber and Brian wanted the day to be simple and relaxed.  Honestly?  So did I.  After such a crazy (in a good way) year, I was ready for a quiet day.  A chance to forget about everything except being one person with one camera. One story.  It’s who I am most naturally.

Amber…Thank you being such a cheerleader for my work.  You get me.  You appreciate photography that is timeless and real.  Thank you for introducing me to Jess and Billy.  Thank you for choosing me to document your day.  For trusting me to just do my thing.  I’m so happy for you and Brian, and I’ll look forward to staying in touch!

To Always Planned…Awesome work.  The day was perfect!

Here are my favorite shots from the day.  Enjoy!

Classic.

I don’t know why I love this one so much.  Just something kind of honest about it I guess.

Dang they’re sweet.

Love this.
