I met Keisha and Travis through Kelly Pierce, who is an uber-talented florist and entrepreneur in Mt. Sterling.  For all of your floral needs, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE check with Kelly before committing to any certain vendor.  She’s just awesome.  Her email address is kellyp_1@msn.com and her office number is (859)498-6811.

This wedding was such a great ending to my 2008 Kentucky wedding season.  In an area called Tarr Ridge, Keisha and Travis are planning to build their home on an enormous tract of land (200+ acres, if my memory serves me correctly).  It was here that they chose to get married.  I can’t imagine how cool it’s going to be for them to one day look out their kitchen window and remember getting married just a steps away.

To Keisha and Travis—Thank you for being so real and warm.  Your wedding was a breath of fresh air for me, and I can’t wait to talk with you all again really soon.  Do stay in touch!

A big thank-you goes out to Ariel, who came along as a third-shooter to this wedding and turned out some really nice images.  I’ll look forward to working with you again, Ariel!  Scott had the weekend off, so Betsy, who has been third-shooting for me all of 2008, got a chance to slide on up and try her hand as a second shooter.  You rocked the house–or field, I should say!

One more thing before I get to the slideshow…

For those regular readers, you’ll remember Keisha’s and Travis’ engagement session out near Natural Bridge in the Red River Gorge a few weeks ago.  In my blog post, I talked about how sometimes I long to be off the beaten path.  I didn’t explain myself very well, so while I have your attention…

You see, I love living in Kentucky, and I’m happy as a lark residing in Lexington.  I am, however, most proud to have grown up in just east of here in Mount Sterling.  It’s less than an hour from Lexington, but it’s also less than an hour from some really great places you might not have ever thought about checking out.

Owingsville, Clay City, Stanton, Irvine, and Frenchburg are all places I remember visiting as a young child.  My mom was often travelling there, doing direct sales for Home Interiors.  I spent a lot of time observing those landscapes from the comfy passenger-side seat of our minivan.  When I wasn’t daydreaming, reading, drawing, or asking a million questions, I was listening to and studying the people we were meeting.  Now today, I am still always impressed by the spirit, the honesty, the humor, the wit, and the warmness of these wonderful people.  I hope that respect comes through in these images.  :)

For the slideshow, click HERE or on the play button below.  All of the images will soon be available HERE in a few weeks, so go ahead and preregister so that you’ll be notified by email once they’re all up.  Thank you for stopping by, and please leave a comment if you have a second.  Take care!  -SR
