As someone who typically only runs if I’m late for something, I was inspired Saturday.

I’ve done some commercial work for Central Baptist in the past, but this time they asked me to come out and put my spin on the photography for their 27th annual A Midsummer’s Night Run. What a cool event, and how lucky Lexington is to have Central Baptist sponsor it.

I hope you enjoy the favorites I’ve posted below and that you’ll stay in touch! If you’d like to purchase any images from the event, feel free to go HERE. Thanks!

The first event of the evening was the One-Mile Fun Walk/Run.

Next was The Fastest Kid in Town, a series of sprints for ages 1-12.

The folks from Orange Leaf were there to lend a hand. Good seeing you, Bryce!

The opening moments of the 5K. Over 3700 people completed the race. Awesome.

My friend Brandi yelled up at me as she passed underneath the bridge I was shooting from.

Impressive sight.

Fastest male, David Mutese.

Fastest female, Andrea Richardson.

For additional images from the event, feel free to check HERE. Thanks!

I miss music. I used to play out quite a bit when I was younger. Geez…feels like a lifetime ago. That was before I found photography, though, before I realized that I was better suited professionally to be behind the lens instead of the microphone.

Not so with Julia, though. She’s an ubertalented singer/songwriter with an amazing presence on stage. Julia will be able to take her music quite far. And she’s at SCAPA for dance and drama. Talented girl, right?

I recently had the chance to see Julia perform live at Natasha’s. Awesome. If you’d like to check out her shows, you might wanna connect with Julia on her Facebook music page HERE.

To Julia—You rock. Looking forward to staying in touch and seeing all the cool things you do with your talents. You’ve got a great group of family and friends rooting you on. Best of luck!

Coolest part of my job? Becoming part of family history.

Summer 2008: Allison and Nick are married in Lexington
Spring 2010: Allison’s brother Ryan marries Cynthia in San Juan, Puerto Rico
Summer 2010: Allison and Nick bring Baby Audrey home from the hospital
Fall 2010: Allison gets her MBA and Nick passes the bar exam. Graduation party ensues on a riverboat in Cincy.

And I was there with camera in hand. Cool, eh?

Now I can add one more date to the list. May 1st, 2011, I spent the afternoon with Allison and Nick in their new house in northern Kentucky celebrating Audrey’s first birthday.

Here are a few of my favorites from the day:

To Allison and Nick—Thank you for keeping me in the loop. It’s been great seeing you go through all the fun life changes. You’re doing an amazing job. Audrey’s a sweetie! Talk to you soon!
